This is a backfill for the completed week of 21 to 27 September 2026. I wrote it on 12 October 2026. Two points-purchase promotions began that week. Both have expired.

Finnair offered up to 50% bonus Avios

Finnair's buy-Avios offer opened on 21 September and closed on 5 October. Australian Frequent Flyer reported the launch on 22 September, and Finnair's campaign terms specified a bonus of up to 50% on Avios bought during that period. The offer has expired; Finnair's purchase page has since returned to its usual wording.

The campaign was limited to Finnair Plus members who joined before 18 September and already had at least 50 Avios. Members could buy or receive up to 200,000 Avios in the calendar year, excluding promotional bonus Avios from that limit. The percentage depended on the number bought, so “up to 50%” did not mean every purchase received that rate. The offer could help someone who had found a suitable reward flight, but the sale price alone did not establish the value of a redemption.

Velocity discounted Points Booster purchases through two partners

On 23 September, Point Hacks published a Velocity Points Booster offer and its promotion terms. Purchases made through Point Hacks or Australian Frequent Flyer from 23 to 29 September received a 20% price discount for 50,000–100,000 points, 30% for 110,000–190,000, or 40% for 200,000–250,000. This was a discount on the purchase price, not extra points. The promotion has expired.

Members needed at least 1,000 Velocity Points in their account. The yearly purchase limit was 250,000 points. The partner discount did not apply to purchases made directly through Velocity or to a reward-seat points top-up. The published terms also said that buying points did not guarantee a reward seat, so checking availability mattered before paying.
