About RWRDS
RWRDS tracks every Australian credit card offer and ranks them by what they’re actually worth — the dollar value of the bonus after fees, for the way you redeem the points, with ongoing earn rates, transfer partners, and issuer waiting periods all factored in. The goal is one place where the value of a card is obvious without sales spin.
Who runs RWRDS
RWRDS is built and edited by Craig McNamara, a Brisbane-based software engineer and founder. Craig has been churning Australian credit card rewards since well before 2020 — first in spreadsheets — and built RWRDS in 2020 to track them as a real application rather than a Google Sheet, because he’d rather ship the tool than re-format the spreadsheet.

How we evaluate cards
Every offer on RWRDS is scraped directly from the issuer’s site and validated against the original source before publishing. Bonuses are normalised across reward programs (Qantas, Velocity, Krisflyer, bank points) so cards can be compared on like terms. Issuer waiting periods, eligibility rules, and historical bonus trends are tracked so readers see whether an offer is genuinely strong or just freshly repackaged.
Rankings are driven by estimated first-year profit — the dollar value of a card’s bonus for the way the points are actually redeemed (transferred to an airline, taken as gift cards, or earned as cashback), minus the fees you pay to get it. Because a point’s worth depends on how it’s used, the same card can rank differently for flights versus gift cards, so each list ranks cards for that redemption. Two cards worth the same in dollars are then separated by how achievable the minimum spend is — an easier spend hurdle ranks higher than one that demands an unrealistic threshold. Point values come from published third-party valuations (Australian Frequent Flyer and Point Hacks), and gift-card and cashback figures from real redemption rates — all shown on each card, so the number is transparent rather than a single opaque score.
Craig has personally held cards from nearly every Australian issuer, which means the editorial perspective is informed by hitting the spend thresholds, redeeming the points, and dealing with the issuers directly — not just reading marketing pages.
Independence
RWRDS earns zero affiliate commissions. There are no sponsored placements, no referral payments, and no relationships with issuers that influence rankings. Every card is judged on the same criteria — the site you read is the same site we’d use ourselves to pick a card.
RWRDS operates under the Australian Credit Licence of Advice and Answers Pty Ltd (ACL #547291), acting only as an intermediary. Everything here is factual information and rankings — not personal credit or financial advice. Assess suitability for your own circumstances, and seek licensed personal advice where you need it.
