This is a backfill for 22–28 June 2026, published on 12 October 2026. The promotion periods below have ended.
Velocity and IHG opened a double-points offer on 22 June
Virgin Australia's dated offer terms say that members of both Velocity Frequent Flyer and IHG One Rewards could register from 22 June to 5 July 2026. After registration, eligible direct bookings and stays at participating IHG hotels from 22 June to 30 September 2026 earned twice the usual Velocity Points. The registration and stay periods have now ended.
The conditions mattered. Members had to select Velocity as their IHG earning preference before check-in. Reward Nights, Points & Cash stays, and bookings through third-party sites did not qualify. At participating Australian hotels, the usual rate was 3 Velocity Points per eligible A$1. On an eligible A$100 room rate, that meant 300 base points plus 300 bonus points, or 600 points total. I would check the hotel rate and the points I would give up in IHG One Rewards before choosing Velocity for a stay.
Revolut Ultra entered the Australian points comparison
Point Hacks reported on 22 June that Revolut had introduced its Ultra plan in Australia. It is a debit-card plan, not a credit card. Revolut's plan page lists one RevPoint per eligible A$1 spent and airport lounge entry. Its lounge terms say complimentary passes are for the member at select lounges, subject to availability; guest passes cost extra.
The published price was A$99.99 a month, or A$999 a year. Revolut's dated discount terms show that an invited eligible customer could get 10% off the first three monthly fees between 11 June and 10 July 2026. That offer has expired. It also required a 12-month plan, so three discounted months did not make this a three-month commitment. For a points-focused reader, the full plan fee and the airline transfer rate matter more than the headline earn rate.
