Weekly News Roundup: Aug 31 - Sep 6, 2026

This is a look back at the week of 31 August to 6 September 2026. Qantas added a new way to use points, and one short booking offer reached its deadline. The booking offer has expired; it is here as a record of that week, not a current deal.
Qantas Points can now book Condor flights
On 1 September, Condor announced its partnership with Qantas. Qantas Frequent Flyer members can use points for eligible Condor reward seats in Economy, Premium Economy and Business Class. Qantas says to look for Classic Flight Rewards on flights with a Condor (DE) flight number.
Condor's network includes European destinations that may give Australian members another way to put together a points trip. The airlines also announced an interline agreement, so a journey booked on one ticket can connect across their networks with baggage checked through. Reward seats still depend on availability, and taxes, fees and carrier charges apply. I would check the full itinerary before using points.
Qantas double rewards booking window closed
Qantas's double-rewards booking offer closed at 11:59 pm AEST on 2 September. The offer has expired. It had opened on 26 August and offered a choice of double Qantas Points or double Status Credits. The previous roundup records its travel dates and conditions.
