To apply for a Credit Card, you must meet the eligibility criteria such as being 18 or over, you’re an Australian resident, you receive a regular income and have a good credit score. Then, you’ll need to compare Credit Card options to find the right one for your financial needs. Once you have decided to apply online or in person at a BOQ branch, you’ll need to provide personal & financial information such as income & expenses. Then wait for your application to be reviewed. You will be notified of the outcome of your application within 2 bank business days of submission of the electronic application.

It’s a card with a set amount of funds (called a 'limit’) you can access at any time. This limit is set when you apply for a card.   • How do I apply for a Credit Card in Australia?
    Please note, applications for a new Credit Card are temporarily unavailable from 26 October 2025.
    To apply for a Credit Card, you must meet the eligibility criteria such as being 18 or over, you’re an Australian resident, you receive a regular income and have a good credit score. Then, you’ll need to compare Credit Card options to find the right one for your financial needs. Visit our compare Credit Cards page to see which BOQ Credit Card is right for you.
    Once you have decided to apply online or in person at a BOQ branch, you’ll need to provide personal & financial information such as income & expenses. Then wait for your application to be reviewed. You will be notified of the outcome of your application within 2 bank business days of submission of the electronic application.

  • What is a Credit Card?
    A Credit Card allows you to borrow money or get ‘credit’ from a bank or Credit Card company to make purchases or withdraw cash. It’s a card with a set amount of funds (called a 'limit’) you can access at any time. This limit is set when you apply for a card. When you use a Credit Card, you are essentially taking out a loan that you must repay and may incur interest and fees. Some Credit Cards come with rewards programs that reward you with points for everyday spending.

  • Can you withdraw cash with a Credit Card?
    Yes, you can withdraw up to AUD $1,000 cash per day using your BOQ Credit Card. Fees and charges will apply, view our Credit Card fees and charges guide for more information.
